The Awards are limited to entries from broadcasters (TV, music), publishers (print, online) and OTT players. Entries must relate to the media brands themselves and are not open to advertisers in media.

The primary aim of the Awards is to reward creative communication by media brands in India. The Media Brand Awards are therefore open to all forms of media.

And don't forget to check out the Special Awards which are waiting to be won by the media brand which receives the highest number of points in its class (eg Print or TV Entertainment).

Best Out-of-home

The use of either traditional or non-traditional out-of-home media for communication by a media brand.

Best Brand Activation

The use of activation (that is, one-off live events, street show, sports events, festivals etc) by a media brand to engage with potential consumers.

Best Branded Content Campaign

A clearly identifiable content-based campaign by a media brand with a specific marketing goal in mind. Placement of a brand/advertiser in the campaign is a must.

Best online campaign

A campaign that uses several digital platforms in an integrated manner to promote a programme, show, section or any new initiative.

Best social media campaign

The use of social media in a creative way across platforms.

Best print ad

A single ad to promote a programme, show, section or any new initiative.

Best video promo

Use of a video to promote a programme, show, section or any new initiative.

Best IPR event

Creation of a unique IPR event by a media company which enhances the power of the brand.

Best CSR initiative

A unique CSR initiative by a media brand.

Best integrated campaign

The use of an integrated multi-media effort to promote a programme, show, section or any new initiative.

Best trade media campaign

A creative B2B campaign that uses the trade media to influence advertiser perceptions.

Special awards

Participating media brands (not companies) will receive scores for metals won:

Gold: 30 points | Silver: 20 points |Bronze: 10 points

The brand that receives the highest number of points in its class (eg say Print or Music) will receive one of the following titles:

  • TV Entertainment Channel of the Year
  • TV News Channel of the Year
  • Newspaper of the Year
  • Music Brand of the Year
  • Online Publisher of the Year
  • OTT Platform of the Year

(Example, a brand that wins a Gold, a Silver and a Bronze will have scored 30 + 20 + 10 = 60 points)

All participating brands will be automatically considered for one of these titles. They do not have to pay an additional fee.

In the event of a tie where two brands receive the same number of points, the one that has received more gold awards will be declared the winner.
